One thing we all have in common is the music of our time. The late fifties and all of the sixties produced a wide variety of outstanding music. Click on the link above for:

  1. Interesting site. I think 1962 was my favorite year during High School for music. Dance songs ruled. First Twist songs: The Twist, Peppermint Twist, Twist and Shout, Twistin' the Night Away, Slow Twistin', Dear Lady Twist, Soul Twist, and Twistin' Matilda. And then there were all the specialty Dances: Mashed Potato Time, The Loco-Motion, Monster Mash, Limbo Rock, and The Wah Watusi. I remember going to the dances at the Y on Friday Nights and practicing my moves. I was never very good at the special dances, but just liked doing the Twist. There were a lot of other great tunes out that year also, like Runaround Sue and The Wanderer by Dion, Green Onions, and Let Me In, to name a few. We used to 'cruise the strip' with the radio cranked up to these sounds, and it sort of defined the times in a way. What are you guys favorite years and/or tunes?
